Golf TravelJapan
About

A small Tokyo office that happens to be very good at getting golfers onto Japanese courses.

Founded in 2011. Independent, deliberately small, and still doing the same thing we started with.

Our story

It started with one trip that went badly.

A visiting fourball turned up in Japan with a list of courses, no bookings, and the assumption that a credit card would be enough. They played three mediocre rounds in a week and went home believing Japanese golf was overrated.

It is not overrated. It is closed — politely, but closed — to people who do not know how it works. Tee times at the best clubs are released on fixed schedules, many require an agent or a member, the dress code is real, and the whole system assumes a local phone number and a local language.

We built Golf Travel to be that local phone number. Since 2011 we have planned trips for couples, fourballs, societies and corporate groups, from five-night first visits to fourteen-night tours spanning four regions.

How we work

Four things we hold to.

We tell you what is not possible

Some courses will not take you, and some weeks are simply the wrong week. You hear that in the first reply, not after a deposit.

One planner, start to finish

The person who answers your first email is the person who builds the itinerary and who you call at 6am when a flight moves.

We are paid by you, not by hotels

No commission-driven recommendations. If a cheaper hotel is the better hotel for golfers, that is the one we book.

Golf first, but not only golf

A week of eight rounds is a great trip for some groups and a terrible one for others. We will tell you which we think you are.

The team

Three people, and you will meet all of them.

Replace these placeholders with your own team before launch — including photographs and real biographies.

Come and see whether we are as good as this page claims.

Send us your dates. The first reply will tell you more about how we work than anything written here.
