Why Japan

The best-conditioned golf in the world, behind a language barrier.

Japan has more than two thousand courses, several of them genuinely world-class, and almost all of them are superbly maintained. What it does not have is an easy way in: booking systems in Japanese, clubs that only accept visitors through an agent, dress codes that are quietly enforced, and a rhythm of play that catches first-timers out.

That is the whole of our job. We are a small team in Tokyo who have spent fourteen years building relationships with clubs, and we spend them on your behalf — so your week is four or eight rounds of excellent golf with nothing in the way.

How it works

Four steps, and none of them are yours to chase.

  1. 01

    Tell us how you play

A short brief: who is coming, roughly when, how many rounds you actually want, and what the non-golfers would like out of the week.

  2. 02

    We check what is real

Before we propose anything we test availability with the clubs. You get a plan built on tee times we can actually hold, not a wish list.

  3. 03

    An itinerary, then revisions

A day-by-day plan with courses, hotels, transfers and costs in one document. We rework it with you until it is right.

  4. 04

We run it on the ground

Drivers, caddies, club transfers, restaurant bookings and a phone number that answers at 6am when the flight changes.

Sample itineraries

Starting points, not fixed departures.

Every trip we run is built from scratch. These are the shapes that work best — use one as a base and we will rebuild it around your group.

What you get

Access is the product. Everything else is logistics we handle.

Some of the courses people most want to play in Japan do not take direct visitor bookings at all. We tell you plainly which of those we can open on your dates — and which we cannot.

  • Tee times confirmed and held before you pay a balance
  • Hotels, resorts and ryokan chosen for early starts and late finishes
  • Private vehicles with English-speaking drivers on golf days
  • Clubs couriered hotel to hotel so you never carry them on a train
  • Restaurant reservations, including the ones that do not take foreign bookings
  • Guided culture days for anyone in the group who is not playing
  • A tour manager on longer trips, and a 24-hour phone line on all of them
When to go

There is no wrong month — only a wrong region for the month.

Japan runs from subarctic to subtropical. Tell us your dates and we will point you at the part of the country that is at its best.

In their words

What travellers tell us afterwards.

Four of us, eight rounds, four regions, and not one moment where we had to work out where to be. The clubs were waiting at each hotel before we were.
Sample traveller · Grand Tour, 14 nights
I play, my wife does not, and this is the first golf trip where neither of us spent a day waiting for the other. That took real thought from whoever built the schedule.
Sample traveller · Kansai: Culture & Golf, 7 nights
They told us upfront which two courses on our list were not going to happen, and why. The honesty at the start is what made us book.
Sample traveller · Tokyo & Mount Fuji, 7 nights
